Looking back at our work from time gone by

  • We purchased this Foden 4000 series 8x4 double drive with a 14lt Cummins and a 13 speed gearbox from H.J Leas to convert into a recovery truck for our own use. On the chassis we designed and built the equipment used for recovery including a 20 ton winch and extendable jib.

  • Our recovery vehicle was used for many years for our 24 hour breakdown service.
  • We recovered this ERF B series from a field where it had stood for many years. We fitted a new set of batteries and some diesel and it fired up straight away. We were able to drive it back to our workshop in Sandbach where we commenced work on it. When it was completed we entered it into the Sandbach Festival of Transport giving the local children a lot of fun as they rode in the parade in the tipper body.

  • This ERF bulk tipper 8x4 had a cracked chassis behind the double drive axle bracket. We stripped it down and replaced the chassis and strengthened the double drive bracket which supported the chassis better.
  • We extended this DAF of 85 4x2 to 6x2 rigid draw bar, we then built a 28 ft flat body with a 8 ft headboard to carry hay and straw. This was the first conversion we had carried out for A. Leech & Son which he kept for many years until moving on to an Iveco and a Scania which we also converted for him.
  • This Iveco daily horse box was built by ourselves to carry 2 horses and included a small living area to our customer’s specifications.

  • This DAF 85 series is maintained and serviced on a regular basis for a special customer, our own son Richard who runs his own business. He has since bought another concrete mixer, a Foden, which we also maintain and service at our workshop.

  • Chris Hourie was a regular customer of ours having his vehicle serviced and maintained by us. He had Ford Cargo’s and ERF’s; this one was hit by a car and rolled on its side.
